Meet the Camp Directors

Happy, Equestrian Camp Director

Happy has been a part of the Girl Scout Camp family since 1999, when she started as a counselor at Camp Cedarledge. During the school year, Happy works as a special education teacher with a local school district. Happy has earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in special education and is currently working on a second post-graduate degree in school leadership and administration.

Some of Happy’s favorite things to do at camp include visiting the equestrian center, teaching campers to tye-dye, helping girls develop a love for camp and watching how excited girls are to tell their parents about all the fun they had at camp.

Smiles, Camp Director

Smiles is celebrating her seventeenth summer working with Girl Scouts at camp! During the school year, Smiles is an elementary school teacher with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in special education. In 2017, she was nominated as the Lemay Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year.

Smiles loves everything about camp! Her favorite actives are canoeing, hiking, singing around campfires and nature.
